The data centre is located in Iceland. It is powered exclusively by electricity from renewable sources: hydropower, geothermal energy and wind energy.
Why is Iceland a suitable location for computing power?
Iceland produces around 55,000 kWh of green electricity per capita per year – more than any other country. The average of the European Union is less than 6,000 kWh. The cool climate additionally reduces the energy required to cool the facilities.
